“ The Minnesota Chamber appreciates BIPAC's leadership in helping fund state programs to educate our members on issues, candidates and elections. Thanks for your confidence in our program and for the promised investment between now and Election Day 2008. You'll see a terrific effort from the Minnesota Chamber, and we consider your investment just that - a down payment on a long-term program that will achieve results. ”

- David C. Olson,
President, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce

Prosperity Fund
First formed in 2004 as a counter-offensive to anti-business groups, the Prosperity Fund is now a permanent force in grassroots politics.

The Fund develops partnerships with state-based business groups through which Fund assets are used to increase employer participation in stakeholder education. These programs use the sophisticated and proven tools developed through BIPAC’s Prosperity Project®, a Web-based information resource that makes it easy for employers to empower their employees with information about the issues, candidates and campaigns that impact their prosperity.

Working with BIPAC political analysts, the Prosperity Fund leadership – a cross section of prominent business leaders – analyzes the political environment, identifies opportunities and quantifies efforts necessary to make a difference in critical business battlegrounds. Members of the Prosperity Fund leadership also make a commitment to help secure the necessary resources to create and sustain these state programs and to carry the message of the Fund to other businesses and associations. Visit two state program Web sites – Pennsylvania and Ohio - that are up and running thanks to Prosperity Fund resources.

MEASURING SUCCESS
Nearly 1,700 employers and associations - including a majority of the nation’s largest 100 companies – used the Prosperity Project® tools to talk with their employees, retirees and shareholders about candidates, issues and elections by Election Day 2006. Employers delivered more than 57 million pages of information prompting 1.9 million employees to use their company’s Web site to download voter registration or early ballots.

THE FUTURE OF THE PROSPERITY FUND
In 2006, Prosperity Fund resources in 13 targeted states helped to improve the legislative environment at all levels by keeping business issues at the forefront and comparing candidate’s positions on those issues. As we approach the coming election cycle, one which presents an even greater challenge, it is imperative that we diligently work to make business issues a central topic in battleground states. Our goals in 2007-2008 are ambitious, but we are confident that we will succeed.

INVESTING IN PROSPERITY
To meet these goals, millions of dollars are required to fully fund and execute the multi-state programs. Contributions to the Prosperity Fund are used to help fund field staff, develop and distribute state-specific voter assistance guides, prepare and communicate pro-prosperity messages, conduct voter registration and early ballot drives, provide cutting edge technology, training, marketing materials – and more. A donation to the Prosperity Fund may come in any amount from any business, business association or individual in the form of corporate or personal funds.
